Google - 13 million PDF files indexed - results have a "convert to HTML" option

AlltheWeb - index entire files, whereas Google only get the first 100KB

AltaVista - appear to have 10 million .pdf files indexed

Adobe - the creators of the Portable Document File (PDF) format

Google were first off the block to index the less common file-types, and easily have the biggest index of them. For more search options visit the Google page.

Google will index links to Flash files, but not the text within them.
